Coupled ice-ocean modelling: Simulations and prosess studies

Ocean general circulation model (OPA) (Lodyc-Paris,France) The project aims at the numerical investigation of oceanic processes in high latitudes. A dual approach will be used: (A) Large-scale simulation of the general circuation in the arctic ocean and antarktic marginal seas, addressing climate variability and climate change issues, accompanied by (B) Selected high-resoltution studies of smaller scale processes like dense near-bottom currents and topographic effects in general. Mersea model developement The project aims at an improved representation of shallow areas in an ocean circulation model.
