Introduction to Biopython
Python is a modern, object-oriented programming language, which has become popular in several areas of software development. Biopython is a collection of python program modules that facilitate quick development of python scripts for bioinformatics applications. With Python you can write scripts for sequence manipulation, accessing of databases using a range of data formats and execution and parsing of the results of various molecular biology programs.
Introduction to biopython course is an extension to the course "Introduction to Python" that is held one day before this course (30.11.) This course focuses to the bioinformatics specific issues of Python and to the Biopython module library. We highly recommend that participants of this course participate to the Introduction to Python course too as the basics of Python programming language are not discussed on this Biopython course.
The course consists of lectures and hands-on exercises.
