CSC's classroom

CSC maintains a computer classroom with 13 modern and powerful PC workstations. The computers have Windows XP and Linux operating systems. The machines feature also Nvidia Tesla C1060 GPGPU cards for the purposes of scientific computing and visualization. In addition, the equipment includes high-quality audio-visual devices, two HD projectors & screens and a document camera.

There are ca. 30 seats on the classroom. For participants' own laptops there are 12 LAN connections available together with a WLAN.

Studio

The other classroom, also known as the "multipurpose studio" is equipped with 15 latest-generation laptops. It is a 7m x 7m room with studio quality acoustics. The projectors on a soundproof space can project wall sized video or computer presentations, such as Access Grid connections. There are room for ca. 20 people. A broadband WLAN is used for laptops. Presentations can employ two projectors also in this room.

Examples of possible use:

• Courses, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, workshops, meetings

• Remote collaboration requiring large displays (VRVS, H.323, VNC)

• Theater quality presentations  (including HDTV and custom setups)

• Interactive 3D visualization

• Presentations for remote audience with a recording option.

Both rooms are also available for rental.
