Electronic application for the Language Bank rights

17.05.2011

Electronic application for the Language Bank of Finland rights has been published in the new Scientist's User Interface. The Scientist’s User Interface uses the HAKA identity federation service. The users can log in to the Scientist’s User Interface with their username and password provided by either CSC or their home university. The new electronic application serves both new and old users, who can apply for additional rights to the Language Bank’s corpora.

The applicants select the corpora they require rights for and accept the terms and conditions in the application “Language Bank rights” in the Scientist’s User Interface. HAKA identification functions as the signature. Application instructions are available both in the Scientist’s User Interface and the Language Bank’s web pages. The old application form (fill, print, sign and send to CSC) still exists for users outside HAKA federation.

The Language Bank features text and speech corpora in over 70 languages with varied annotations. A prolific selection of tools ranging from parsers to programming environments provides the means to approach them. Many of the corpora are also accessible via a web interface.
