Environmental datasets added to the PaITuli service
26.02.2010
The PaITuli geospatial data service maintained by CSC has been extended by the addition of geospatial datasets from the Finnish environmental administration. The service includes now also datasets of land use and soil, as well as Natura areas, for example.
PaITuli was opened in spring 2009 for use by students, researchers and other staff at institutes of higher education who log in under the user name and password that they use within their own organization. The services provides wide variety of geospatial datasets for research and education use in Finnish Universities and Polytechnics. More than a thousand different users have visited the service since spring 2009.
Datasets currently available through the service have been produced by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the National Land Survey of Finland, the National Board of Antiquities, and the Finnish Road Administration. The most recent addition is the environmental datasets produced by the environmental administration of Finland.
