Topics will include:

  • developing international collaborations
  • defining and articulating socio-economic impact of new research infrastructures
  • use of structural funds
  • in-kind collaborations
  • establishing a legal basis for new RIs
  • governance
  • project management
  • attracting and retaining international staff and other human resource issues
  • technology transfer
  • intellectual property rights
  • data management
  • strategic planning
  • communications

The learning programme will be delivered by an international committee of experienced senior RI-managers, chaired by Professor John Wood (Chair of European Research Area Board, former Chair of ESFRI), and there will be opportunities for site visits, case studies and networking.

The course is aimed at mid-career RI-managers, especially those working in new projects and also (though not exclusively) those working within the new European member states and Associated States.

Places are now available on the 2011 course, which will be held in Amsterdam and Trieste on the following dates: Amsterdam 14-15 June and Trieste 24-25 October. Please note that participants will be expected to attend both parts of the course.
