CSC back on the TOP500 list

HP supercluster acquired by CSC, the IT center for science, is number 80 on the list of most powerful computers published in November 2006.
The maximum performance of the system according to the Linpack benchmark is 8,2 Tflops corresponding 77 % of the peak performance of 10,6 Tflops.
HP ProLiant BL465c cluster consists of 2048 AMD Opteron Dual Core 2,6 GHz processors connected with the Infiniband. The system will be taken into use after the acceptance tests in I/2007.
Cray Hood system, which was acquired at the same time has not been listed yet. It’s installation begins II/2007 and the final phase of configuration will be introduced at the end of 2008. The peak performance of Cray will be 70 Tflops and it will be one of the most powerful systems in Europe.
