Description of the service

A service called the Video parking area is available to all Funet users who use H.323 videoconferencing. The Video park gives the user a possibility to access the national H.323 service.

The use of the service is recommended if your home organization is not delivering gatekeeper services. Neighboring gatekeeper managers may also use it for testing and problem determination.

Please, note the following:

• The usage of the Video park requires the use of prefix 0035894572233
  this means that your GDS reachability number will be long. It will also be different from your telephone number.
• You can't reserve a number
  somebody else might register using your number if you are not online.
• The Video park doesn't support bridges
  You should use your own gatekeeper and connect it to the national gatekeeper - CSC Gate.

Using the service

Configure the Video park IP=193.166.3.123 to the gatekeeper field in your videoconfering system.

Define 0035894572233 + [own number] to the E.164 number field. For example: 003589457223394572240.

After this your device will register to the Video park and you can call to other users. There may arise problems since your GDS number will exceed 15 digits which is recommended by the E.164 standard.

If you are using videoconferencing equipment that is also connected to the ISDN network, please check that you are using Internet (e.g. Tandberg net->LAN) and not accidentally ISDN. The end user equipment is not able to deduce from the number whether internet or ISDN should be called.
