- This is done simply by writing the image in the 3D window to a file.
- Go to File - Hardcopy.
- Choose the file format you want to use.
- Browse to see in which directory you are and type the name of the picutre in the "File name"-box.
- Click Save.
- Click Apply in the "Hardcopy"-window.
- Click Dismiss. If you click Apply again, the program will terminate.
- Now you should have a picture of your 3D-window. Open your picture in a drawing program or like to see how your picture turned out.
Those who want the best possible resolution in their pictures, do the following.
- Set your screen resolution at highest. (In Windows, go to Start Menu - Settings - Control Panel - Display. Click the Settings-tab and set your screen area the highest possible.)
- Back in gOpenMol go to File - Hardcopy.
- Make the 3D-window the size of your monitor by pressing F2.
- BE QUICK to click the "Hardcopy"-icon in the Taskbar if you are using Windows, because the Taskbar disappears after you have pressed F2.
- Then do as above, select the file format, give your picture a name and click Apply.
- Now you will have a high resolution picture of your screen.
- Don't worry, the "Hardcopy"-window does not come into the picture.
- Click once in the window and press F3 to return to the normal viewing mode.
- Click Dismiss in the "Hardcopy"-window.
- View your picture in a drawing program.
