In brief
DEISA is a consortium of European computing centres that allocates resources for demanding computational projects 1-2 times a year. The resources are offered from computing servers at the participating centres, including CSC's Louhi. In the last call in 2009, DEISA shared more than 7000 years of CPU time between 50 research projects.
Applying for resources from DEISA
DEISA issues 1-2 times a year a call for proposals (DEISA Extreme Computing Initiative), where researchers can apply for resources from the computing centres participating in DEISA. Based on the received proposals, a limited number of research projects from different areas of science and technology are chosen to be executed. Scientifically and technically demanding projects that would not be possible to carry out without DEISA resources are ranked high in the decision.
DEISA trainings
At regular intervals, DEISA organises training sessions where researchers around Europe from different scientific disciplines familiarise themselves with DEISA infrastructure and the services offered by DEISA. Participants may claim reimbursement of travelling expenses from DEISA.
