CSC User Account
In order to use Fluent on one of CSC's application server, the user needs an account. Application forms for user accounts at CSC can be found on CSC's web services.
User Group
In order to use Fluent.Inc software (i.e., Gambit, Fidap, Fluent), the user also has to be part of the UNIX-group fluent. The user may check his group-entries using the command
groups myuser-id
where myuser-id has to be replaced with the particular user-id.
Requests to get ones user-id added to the fluent UNIX-group should be either sent to Thomas Zwinger or the CSC UNIX User Manager
Licenses
The general licenses (fluentall) are shared between Fidap, Fluent and Gambit processes. The maximum number of simultaneous users of Fluent software currently is 12. The checkout limit for these licenses currently is set to 4 licenses per user.
Additional 40 parallel only licenses (fluent-par) for parallel runs of Fluent 6 are available. The checkout limit for these licenses is set to a maximum of 11 licenses per user on. Thus, parallel runs with up to 12 CPU's (1 fluentall + 11 additional fluent-par processes) are possible.
