PairsDB Feb. 2006
Description
PairsDB is a database containining a comprehensive set of protein sequences and the BLAST and PSI-BLAST based comparisons between them. This database aims to give an easy and fast tool to study relation ships between proteins. Instead of running BLAST or PSI-BLAST for a known sequence, results can be quickly retrieved from a database of pre-computed alignments.
The sequence data in PairsDB is collected from several source databases including UniProt, PDB, RefSeq, and ENSEMBL. The current version of PairsDB is based on a set of 4 085 629 unique protein sequences, collected in February 2006.
