Description

Discovery Studio is a protein modeling program that contains tools to visualize, analyse, modify and simulate protein structures. University and polytechnic researchers working in Finland can install Discovery Studio into their local Windows or Linux computers for academic research.

Discover Studio is a commercial program by Accelrys Inc. CSC has purchased a national license for Discovery Studio. In year 2012 the license allows access to all Discovery Studio modules.

Discovery Studio 3.5 has been installed into hippu1.csc.fi and hippu2.csc.fi servers and vuori.csc.fi cluster. Note that the program is not available in the new Hippu servers (hippu3.csc.fi and hippu4.csc.fi). The program can be started with command

     DiscoveryStudio35

However we recommend and strongly encourage you to install it on your own computer instead of using the software remotely from CSC's machines. To get Discovery Studio to your local machine, please fill the Accelrys license agreement and send it to Kimmo Mattila (CSC - Tieteen tietotekniikan keskus Oy, PL 405, 02101 Espoo). Note that the license is available only for university researchers working in Finland.

The program is available for 32-bit Windows (Vista, 2003, 2000 or XP ) and 32- and 64-bit Linux operating systems (Red hat Enterprice linux recommended). Discovery Studio consists of client and server software that can be installed into the same or separate machines. Your computer must be within the university network (FUNET) be able to use the floating license provided by CSC
