Chipster Data Analysis Software
Chipster is a user-friendly bioinformatics software developed by CSC. It enables life science researchers to focus on scientific questions rather than practicalities such as programming, because it provides a comprehensive selection of analysis tools in an easy to use format.
Chipster contains over 300 analysis tools for next generation sequencing (NGS), microarray, proteomics and sequence data. Users can save and share automatic analysis workflows, and visualize data interactively using a built-in genome browser and many other visualizations.
Chipster's client software uses Java Web Start to install itself automatically, and it connects to computing servers for the actual analysis. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux computers.
If you would like to use the Chipster server running at CSC, you need a user account. The Chipster software and user support are free of charge for Finnish universities and polytechnics. Foreign academic institutes can buy access to CSC's Chipster server for 500 euros/user/year. Company prices are available on request. Chipster is open source, and it is available as a virtual machine free of charge for those wanting to set up their own Chipster server.
