Adding members to an existing project

Principal Investigator (PI) can add new members to his/her CSC project in the Scientist's User Interface. The new members are added by email addresses and they will have to approve the invitation.

  1. To add a new member, please sign in to the Scientist's User Interface at My projects.
  2. Select the project you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit project at the bottom of the page. This section is for the PI only.
  4. Go to View members and insert the email address of the new member. If the new member is already a CSC customer, please insert the email address connected to his/her CSC user account. If not, for users with HAKA-ID please insert the email in format userid (at) domain.fi.
  5. Press Invite member.

The new member will receive the invitation by email. He/she will also receive an email or emails of the project resources (e.g. of computing or IDA services). To join the project and get an access to the resources, the new member should approve the required terms of use by signing in the Scientist's User Interface at Resources and Applications, and by selecting Approvals

Removing project members

Principal Investigator can remove members from his/her CSC project in the Scientist's User Interface.

  1. To remove a project member, please sign in the Scientist's User Interface at My projects.
  2. Select the project you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit project at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select the member you want to remove and press X.
  5. The Confirm window opens. Select Yes to confirm the removal of the member. 

Updating project properties

Principal Investigator can edit the project properties in the Scientist's User Interface.

  1. To edit the project properties, please sign in the Scientist's User Interface at My projects.
  2. Select the project you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit project at the bottom of the page.
  4. You can edit the following project properties:
    Science Area: Select the science area from the list.
    Description: Update the description of your project.
  5. Press Save.

Principal Investigator can ask for the following changes by contacting the CSC Service Desk (servicedesk@csc.fi):

  • Your project end date approaches. Please give a new end date unless you want to close the project. As a default, projects are continued for a maximum period of two years at a time.
  • Principal Investigator is changed. Please give the contact information of the new Principal Investigator, who fulfills Prerequisites for a Principal Investigator.
  • Title of your project is changed.
  • Home organization of Principal Investigator is changed.
