Finding experts will soon be easier – information on researchers to be made available in Research.fi
In 2022, a service providing quick access to information on researchers will be added to the Research.fi portal maintained by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Details of researchers working in Finland will be made available, making it easier to find experts from different fields and ensuring that more experts can take part in the debate on their own areas of expertise and in decision-making.
Researchers can create a public profile in Research.fi service. This ensures that the skills of the researchers and their contact details are up to date and easily accessible to decision-makers, research funders, research organizations, media and companies looking for experts. The researcher will be able to show on their profile their whole expertise and affiliations regardless of organizational boundaries. The parties to which the information may be disclosed is based on the researcher's own consent.

The Researcher’s profile tool is now available for testing in English
The latest test version of the tool is now open. It will be accessible until January 31, 2022 in English at https://researchfi-mydata-en.rahtiapp.fi/ and in Finnish at https://researchfi-mydata.rahtiapp.fi/fi/. We welcome any feedback on the tool through Webropol at https://link.webropolsurveys.com/S/147262C4AB44ADC3.
The tool now available for testing has been improved based on the feedback from the first published test version in Summer of 2021. We thank all testers for their valuable development ideas! The functionalities available to testing are e.g. adding contact details, descriptions, publications, projects, research data and cooperation choices.
You can login to the test version using your ORCID iD. The data you enter will only be stored in a test database, which will be deleted after the test phase. The feedback you give will be taken into account in the development of the actual service.

The new service will be launched during 2022 as part of the National Research Information Hub. It's introduction has depended on the entry into force of the act on the National Research Information Hub on January 1st 2022. Read more about what changes will be made in the National Research Hub due to the new act (in Finnish).
The Research.fi service increases the visibility and societal impact of Finnish research by offering a single-source access to information on science and research in Finland. The service provides a unique knowledge base to support science policy decision-making. The Ministry of Education and Culture has commissioned CSC – IT Center for Science to provide the Research.fi service, and CSC is carrying out the work in cooperation research organizations and research funders.
