Phishing attempts pretending to represent CSC

Recently there have been some scam "customer surveys" using CSC's good name. Fraudulent web pages may suggest recipients to send personal information in order to win prizes. These scams may be for example emails or pop-up advertisements on a web site, and the sender, layout and content of the message may vary.

These messages are not sent by CSC. It is a matter of malicious survey attempts where the name of CSC – It Center for Science is used without permission. We advise not to respond or to click any links in suspicious messages. Responding may result in a leak of information or installing malicious software on respondent's computer.

An example of a phishing message using CSC name.

All CSC's questionnaires are produced by using QuestBack Essentials or Webropol service. In any other case this will be informed separately in our own website. For example, the new Customer Pulse surveys, which will be taken into use in June, will always have CSC Service Desk as the sender and the sender's e-mail address is servicedesk@csc.fi.

CSC never asks any personal details, such as credit card number or personal identity codes, via email.

If you are uncertain of the authenticity of the message you have received, you can contact CSC's customer service (servicedesk@csc.fi) or Head of Security Urpo Kaila.
