RDA Europe Call for Collaboration Projects 2016 – apply now!
Research Data Alliance (RDA) Europe has just launched the second call for European Collaboration Projects to support European research & scientific communities, initiatives and organisations that want to test or adopt RDA outputs. RDA Collaboration Projects should be short and focus on activities with concrete results to be produced within a six months' time frame. Collaboration Projects will receive 15 000 euros grant for carrying out these activities.
RDA Europe has reserved funds to be invested in joint collaborations within communities focusing on one or more of the following subjects:
- Co-organization of domain workshops or training courses on barriers, solutions, RDA outputs and adoption possibilities.
- Adoption of a specific RDA output and integration into the infrastructure software stack.
- Adaptation of existing software stack to be compliant with emerging RDA guidelines.
- Writing guidelines on RDA outputs focused on domain specialties.
Project coordination and supervision will be jointly carried out between an RDA expert and a senior expert from the collaboration partner.
– The participation of Finnish researchers in RDA working groups has increased steadily. This enables us to influence working group activities and to leverage on the results of the working groups. The launched RDA collaboration call offers new possibilities to utilize RDA outputs in one's own project, with the help of RDA Europe's funding, says Director Leif Laaksonen from CSC.
The deadline for submissions is on 30 September, 2016 at 17.00 CET. The earliest start date for the collaboration projects is 1 January, 2017.

RDA Europe: RDA (Research Data Alliance) Europe is the European plug-in to the Research Data Alliance (RDA). The goal of RDA is to create a global infrastructure for data: to accelerate international data-driven innovation and discovery by facilitating research data sharing and exchange. This is achieved through the development, adoption, and deployment of infrastructure, policy, practice, standards, and other deliverables. Over 3 000 members from 103 countries are currently part of the RDA Alliance. RDA is currently funded by the European Commission, the U.S. Government (NSF & NIST) and the Australian Government.
