null Puhuri2

The goal of the Puhuri project is to implement a common service layer to manage user and group information and resource allocations in a multinational context, with the LUMI supercomputer as the driving case. The Puhuri Project ends in H1 2022. However, in order to reach the full potential of what is already an internationally recognized system, certain aspects of the Puhuri System need to be addressed.

The main goals of the Puhuri2 project are to:
1. Ensure sustainability of the Puhuri System
2. Increase adoption of the services developed in the Puhuri Project
3. Add and enhance functionalities of the Puhuri System

The Puhuri project was established to support LUMI and other NeIC projects to enable user access to the respective services. This includes authentication and authorisation infrastructure (AAI) and the project resource allocation services. Even though the Puhuri project focuses on the LUMI supercomputer as the first use case, the project has been recognized as a viable solution also in other contexts internationally as well as for national use. Thus, the sustainability of the Puhuri services must be addressed through a transparent and robust process and methodology, which will be developed in Puhuri2. By also extending the portfolio of services that the Puhuri System offers to e-infrastructure providers, NeIC will facilitate EU research activities and international research cooperation, thereby increasing Nordic influence in European research activities.

CSC is working on all of these activities.

Financial support for this project was provided by the Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration (NeIC).
