PRACE – international cooperation and some of the most advanced computing resources in Europe

Finnish researchers can apply for high-performance computing and data management resources and services from PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe).

PRACE is a European advanced computing infrastructure with 26 member countries.

Universities, other research institutes and national data centres offer computing resources that meet the needs of most Finnish research projects. Access to supercomputing capacity is offered through five leading European centres (so-called Tier-0 centres). Since 2010, PRACE has granted Finnish research projects almost 877 million hours of computing time (situation 04/2019). The monetary value of these resources equals around 15,4 million Euros. Without PRACE's resources, these project would never have been completed, or they would have taken extremely long.

CSC coordinates PRACE's training offer and serves as a PRACE Training Center. The training focuses on efficient use of high-performance computing resources.
