Case National Library: Cooperation that preserves national cultural heritage for future generations

Digital preservation of data ensures that cultural heritage materials are preserved and passed on to future generations and that they remain comprehensible.

In cooperation with the National Library of Finland, we designed and implemented a digital preservation solution for information and a maintenance solution for the customer interface FINNA in the National Digital Library project.

The digital preservation service safeguards materials belonging not only to the National Library but also such actors as the National Audiovisual Institute, the National Archives of Finland and the National Board of Antiquities.

Director Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen, National Library tells:

"We are currently working on four major national projects, and almost all of these involve cooperation with CSC. The purpose of this cooperation is to produce services that are as appropriate as possible and meet the customer's needs."
