Prerequisites for a Project Manager

As a Project Manager (previously referred to as Principal Investigator) of a CSC Project you should meet the following prerequisites:

  • For research purposes:
    Project Manager should be an experienced researcher (e.g. post doc, team or group leader, professor) involved in the project.
     
  • For educational purposes:
    Project Manager should be the responsible instructor of the course.
     
  • For other purposes:
    Project Manager should be e.g. a project manager or a technical coordinator for a collaboration project.
     

Responsibilities of a Project Manager

  • Project Manager is responsible for adding and removing project members, or transferring Project Manager duties to another project member. Project Manager is also a member of the project.
  • Project Manager is responsible for monitoring that the resources granted for the Project are used responsibly, according to the Terms of Use.
  • Project Manager acts as the primary contact person in communications with CSC.
     

Please note that some services (e.g. IDA research data storage service, The Language Bank of Finland) might include service specific responsibilities for the Principal Investigator/Project Manager in their terms of use.
