Python is a popular scripting language that is widely used in scientific computing and data analysis. This course is intended for bioscientists who would like to start using Python programming in their research.

The first day of the course starts from beginner level and provides basic overview to python. The content is essentially the same that is covered in the first day of the CSC course Introduction to Python.

The second day focuses on examples that introduce  some of the python tool libraries frequently used in biosciences ( for example  Biopython ).

After the course, the students are familiar with the basic features of python language and are able to write simple python scripts and do simple modifications to existing python programs. They also know how tool libraries can be implemented in python programming.
