This is a workshop on enhanced ice-flow modelling using Elmer/Ice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own applications along such that in a mix of presentations and hands-on sessions those can be worked over.

This workshop is for more advanced users dealing with Glaciological problems, so a certain level of modelling skills (preferably with Elmer/Ice) is expected. The course was initiated on request of NCoE SVALI members.

Program

There is no strict schedule, but the following topics shall be addressed (can be completed upon wishes from participants):

  • Inverse methods
  • Hydrological modelling
  • Parallel application
  • Block pre-conditioning
  • Enhanced pre- and post-processing (incl. ParaView and internal mesh extrusion)
  • Coupling to external data (e.g., NetCDF reader for climate coupling)
