Kansainväliset verkostot
Tutkimusta tehdään yhä enemmän yhteistyössä kansainvälisten sidosryhmien kanssa. Siksi on ehdottoman tärkeää, että CSC kehittää tutkimusyhteisöjen ja muiden eurooppalaisten toimijoiden kanssa palveluita, jotka tukevat suomalaisten tutkijoiden osallistumista kansainväliseen yhteistyöhön. Tiedonvaihdon lisääntyminen hyödyttää sekä CSC:n kansallisia että kansainvälisiä sidosryhmiä.
Tehtävämme on pitää Suomi tutkimuksen kärjessä. Verkostojen avulla voimme tuoda suomalaiset näkökulmat kansainväliseen keskusteluun yhteisistä standardeista ja käytännöistä, mikä lisää Suomen kilpailukykyä ja edesauttaa laajasti suomalaista yhteiskuntaa.
e-IRG
e-Infrastructure Reflection Group
The e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) is a strategic body to facilitate integration in the area of European e-Infrastructures and connected services. It influences within and between member states, at the European level and globally. E-IRG is a self-regulated and independent body which consist of delegations from the EU Member States and Associated Countries as well as the European Commission. E-IRG was established in 2003 and CSC has been involved as a national delegate almost from the beginning.
In its series of Roadmaps, e-IRG builds on a vision to fulfil its mission to support coherent, innovative and strategic European e-Infrastructure policy making and the development of convergent and sustainable e-Infrastructure services. In 2016, e-IRG published its renewed Roadmap to define a clear route on how to evolve the European e-Infrastructure system further.
The new roadmap supports the objectives of CSC's research support work on a national and an international level. Key objectives include the development of a common European platform for the utilization of open data (Collaborative Data Infrastructure), and the provision of computing services with the use of cloud services (European Open Science Cloud) and high-performance computing (PRACE). The services are available for researchers via high-speed data networks (GÉANT).
The e-IRG activities are closely connected to the Presidency of the European Union. For instance, the workshops are organised in and together with the country that holds the Presidency.
There are two national e-IRG delegates from Finland: Sami Niinimäki (Ministry of Education and Culture) and Irina Kupiainen (CSC).
The work of the e-IRG is supported by the EC's Horizon 2020 co-funded project e-IRGSP5. Previously the work was supported by e-IRGSP, e-IRGSP2, e-IRGSP3 and e-IRGSP4 projects.
