CSC Trainees

"In short, I'm making geographic information system (GIS) work easier and less of a hassle for researchers using Taito super cluster by installing and updating the software. In addition to that, I have been learning while working by experimenting new stuff: I have come across such things as working with raster data using virtual datasets, and compiling software in a cluster environment."
Elias Annila, Trainee. Services for Research, Science Support.

"I'm working on education statistics and developing, for example, actual indicators for higher education's self-evaluation. In addition, I have familiarized myself with global standards used in learning analytics. The best part of working at CSC is the variety of tasks that require different problem-solving strategies and the chance to learn new software and programming languages."
Olga Heino, Trainee. Services for Education, Research Information Management and Interoperability.
"I'm managing Windows servers for our remote desktop service that is used by various researchers while also developing a new service with both Windows and Linux servers. I have learned a lot about developing new services and using different software languages through projects I have been part of."
Jerry Träskelin, Junior System Specialist. Tailored ICT Services for Libraries, Archives and Museums.
"I'm following and analyzing political trends of ICT-related questions. In addition, I'm assisting in preparing statements closely linked with CSC's field of operation by collecting data and working the statements together with specialists. Here at CSC we contribute to many interesting themes in an international level and I have had the opportunity to promote education and science policies that are important to me."

Jesse Oikarinen, Trainee. Research Infrastructures, EU and Public Affairs.
