The purpose of this hack day is to provide the attendees with a
distraction-free day to spend on developing HPC applications. The
attendees come to the workshop with the code they are developing and a specific goal to achieve, such as

  • implementing a new feature or algorithm into their code
  • parallelizing a serial code
  • porting a code to utilize GPUs or Xeon Phi co-processors
  • improving serial performance and parallel scalability of their code.

This workshop will catalyze this work by providing consultancy and tips as well as a possibility to reflect your ideas with CSC experts and other attendees. Also a couple of brief tutorials and best-practice talks will be given during the day. The specific topics of these will be tailored for the final list of attendees and their interests.
Program

There is no fixed program for this workshop – it is all about hacking. There will be a short briefing session in the beginning and the workshop ends when the last one leaves. The times for short tutorials and talks will be agreed on the fly. Attendees can have their breaks whenever they please.
