This two day course will cover the very basics of Unix/Linux. It serves as an introduction to those who are completely new to Linux. Both days have extended hands-on exercises.

Elmer is one of the most popular open-source multi-physics Finite Element Method (FEM) codes. The course will cover the use of Elmer through its graphical user interface, ElmerGUI. Also command-line operation of Elmer will be explained. The course will also include the basics of parallel computing and writing user subroutines with Elmer.
