In this online course we teach various ways to optimise and parallelise Python programs. Among the topics are performance analysis, efficient use of NumPy arrays, extending Python with more efficient languages (Cython), and parallel computing with message passing (mpi4py) approach.
Data Carpentry workshops are for any researcher who has data they want to analyze, and no prior computational experience is required. We will cover data organization in spreadsheets and learn how to use the programming language R. The course is aimed at graduate students and other researchers, and you don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop.
